Welcome to a new school year! I am so excited to have your child in our Art class this year! It’s going to be a fun year working with projects that are experimental and that simultaneously express ownership, diversity, and identity.
First, please let me introduce myself. My name is Ashley Morrison and I earned my degree from the Kansas City Art Institute. I have always been passionate about education and enjoyed academic environments, therefore pursued additional training in visual arts from Colorado State University and the University of Arkansas. My interest to become more involved in the classroom started as an art resident in the Arkansas Art Center, working with a variety of ages from five to senior citizens. I find that students are as individual as their needs and one approach to teaching/learning might not necessarily work with every student. I believe art is about learning how diverse we are as individuals and accepting diversity around us, and that comes with accepting mistakes we make in our art.
