 Wecome Video

My name is Regina Taylor, and I have worked for SLPS in the capacity as a secretary/teacher assistant, and a regular classroom teacher. I taught Montessori Kdg/1st one year and third grade for the next 25 years between Ames and Shaw VPA. I am no longer a classroom teacher and my present title is a Response to Instruction Specialist who implements reading. This will be my fifth year instructing a reading intervention program working with students in a small group setting. The former system that I taught last year was a leveled Literacy Intervention reading progam that required being more engaged in reading books. The program that will be used this year is SIPPS Plus.

Introduction of the Program:

SIPPS Plus is a systematic phonics program that will ehance the students learning success. The acronym stands for (Systemactic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words). The SIPPS program is designed to develop word-recognition strategies and skills. Grades  that will be accomodated for this program will be grade levels 3rd-6th. Students who find reading and writing difficult can benefit and become independent and confident readers.
