I am Kellie Tucker and I am excited about welcoming a group of brilliant students to 2nd Grade this year. We are in for an adventure as we step into an innovative way of learning and exploring. This school year will be different than any other thus far, and I am happy to partner with students and their families for the adventure that lies ahead. Right now there is a lot going on in our country and all over the world. Collectively were fighting a pandemic and many of us are continually fighting for social justice. With that said, despite challenges we will face in adapting to circumstances that rapidly change, I am certain that there is plenty of room for our students to grow as inquiring learners. I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in working towards a year of successful learning and growth.
I returned to Bryan Hill after a two-year break, last Spring. I previously worked as a First/Second Grade Teacher at Bryan Hill for four years, before taking some time off to welcome my youngest daughter. This is my Eigth year working in the field of education. Prior to Bryan Hill, I worked for the Hazelwood School District, and I spent a summer teaching an ELL class of second through fifth grade students, in Arizona. I was especially excited to return to Bryan Hill. The College Hill Neighborhood is a special place to me. Though I grew up in California, my family has history with this neighborhood and it is an honor to serve families in the community that my family served for more than 30 years. Now that I have returned, I look forward to picking up where I left off.
