Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Yasmine Dismuke

Greetings, my name is Ms. Yasmine Dismuke. I am the new 4th grade teacher at Peabody Elementary. I’m originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, but I have been visiting St. Louis since I was a child. I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College with a B.A. in Political Science, and a minor in Women’s Studies. The summer of 2018, I interned at Hope and Healing Counseling Services in Minnesota. In summer of 2019, I interned for a Congressman in St. Louis. Both experiences showed me how important it is to have a strong sense of community. Students will understand that in my classroom. They will have a community that will support, challenge, and encourage them.

I am truly passionate about cultivating a consistent and deep love of learning in young minds. As 4th graders, I will expect students to embody what a scholar is, inside and outside of the virtual classroom. Scholars are critical thinkers and continuously seek deeper knowledge. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students, parents, and myself work together as a team to have a successful and productive 4th grade year. I look forward to starting this school year and embarking on a journey of learning new and exciting things!
