Greetings Yeatman-Liddell Scholars & Families,

My name is Kacheena Lucas (Ms. Lucas) and I am the School Social Worker. I am beyond excited to be joining the Yeatman-Liddell Middle School Family and Community. I know that things have been looking differently this year as we are still virtual. As we navigate this new normal, I want you all to know that we are in this together and I am here for you.

A little bit about myself: I am from Newark, NJ. I am the only girl and middle child among my two brothers. I came to St. Louis in 2017 to purse my masters in Social Work at Wash U's Brown School. After graduating in 2019, I decided to stay and make St. Louis my second home. In my free time, I enjoy DIY projects, traveling, trying new foods and spending time with my partner, family and friends.

As your school social worker, I can help students and familes with the following:

- Assessing your student’s overall well-being, including any potential  mental health needs

- Communication and consultation with you and your family, your student’s teachers, and other support services for monitoring your student’s progress

- Identifying barriers that may be hindering your student’s education and/or connecting you and your family with community resources to  ensure basic needs like food, shelter and clothing are being met

- Providing individual and group counseling

Office Hours: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday
