This week April 6th- April 10th
This week we will continue with letter M activities. I have posted some new activities under ELA/Reading, Math, Adaptive skills and Social Emotional. The specialist will add things to the Related services for PE, Music and Art. Please feel free to pace yourself according to your child's needs. I put one activity for each day of the week (Monday-Friday) under each section: ELA/Reading, Math, Social Emotional, Science/Sensory and Adaptive skills. It doesn't neccessarily have to go in order. I put everything for the week online by Monday at 8:00am. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Letter of the week: M
Math: We will be working on identifying numbers, counting with 1:1 correspondence and basic addition concepts. I have posted worksheets and videos to help develop these skills. You can also look at the goals on their IEP and incorporate them.
ELA/Reading: Please read with your child for at least 15 minutes a day using the read aloud videos or books of their choice. While reading you can identify sight words, letter of the week (M), Letter of the week sound, Words that start with the letter of the week(M), Ask WH questions (Who, What, Where), For some students you can also work on sounding out words or identifying the letters of their name. You can also look at the goals on their IEP and incorporate them.
Science/sensory: I will post a sensory/science activity you can do with your child. This week Volcanos: mix baking soda and vinegar together and watch the volcano erupt. You can use an ice tray or bowl and put baking soda in container and use an eye dropper, cup or spoon to pour vinegar over the baking soda. You can add food coloring if you like. I will post videos to expand on the concepts and they can be found under assignments under the science/sensory tab.
Social/Emotional: I will post videos and/or resources under the assignment tab. Belly breathing is a video we have watched in our class about breathing when we are mad or frustrated. It can be found under the assignments under the social/emotional tab.
Adaptive Skills: I will post resources on how to work on adaptive skills at home. These are the skills that help our students become more independent such as, washing hands, cleaning up toys, eating, toileting skills, putting on coat and backpack, brushing teeth, putting on clothing/socks/shoes and washing face.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Also let me know how you and your family are doing and know you are all in my thoughts and prayers!
