Mrs. Fouse

My name is Mrs. Ramona Fouse.  I come to you with 28 years of teaching experience.  I began my teaching career with the Rockford Public School District in Rockford, Illinois in 1993.  There I taught at William Dennis Elementary School, third grade.  I moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1994.  In search for a teaching position, I substitute taught in the Cahokia School District (pre-school thru middle school) and the Parkway School District (1st through 8th grade).  I was a financial advisor in the TRIO program at Harris Stowe State College (1995 - 1996).  At Harris Stowe State College I interacted with middle to high school students.  So, in essence, I've interacted with students from pre-school thru high school.

I began my teaching career with the St. Louis Public School District in August, 1996 at Turner Middle School.  I came to Woodward Elementary School in the school year of 2004-2005 where I taught 5th grade.

I now teach 1st grade children.  It's an adjustment for me to teach young kids but my primary goal for my first grade students is to support their reading readiness.  It is imperative that children develop reading readiness skills in their early school years for reading accounts for 60% - 90% of school success.
