I was born and raised in the Penrose neighborhood of St. Louis. I went to Scullin school, then Metro, and graduated from University of Missouri St. Louis with a B.S. in chemistry.
I worked for 20 years in experiential education and have spent the last 18 years teaching chemistry and environmental science.
I have traveled a bit around the country and spent 20 years taking students and educators into the outdoors. I try to add some of those experiences into my teaching. My hobbies include woodworking, gardening, and reading.
