The goals of the Sheltered Social Studies classes are to learn History and to improve your English skills. We will work on improving your skills in Social Studies. We will also work to improve your skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Biography:Mr. Johnston has a Masters degree in Secondary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and is certified in Missouri to teach Social Studies (5-12), English (5-12), and ESOL (K-12.) He has been a teacher for 33 years including 20 years in a private college preparatory school and a short teaching assignment in South Korea. Mr. Johnston is in his 13th year with St. Louis Public Schools.
