After graduating from Wayne State College (in Nebraska) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Marketing, I worked for the next 22 years in the business world for major companies (NCR Corporation, IBM Corporation, Siemens AG, and Cisco Systems) in various sales, marketing and management roles. I left my career in business on January 1, 2004 to go back to college to earn a teaching certification in secondary education. Since then, I have obtained my Masters of Science in Education and my Masters in Business Administration degrees from Missouri Baptist University.
I’m currently in my 13th year of teaching at Roosevelt High School (St. Louis Public School district) as a Career & Technical Education (CTE) teacher where I also serve as the Department Chairman for CTE.
I have been truly blessed with a wonderful family. My wife, to whom I’ve been married 31 years, is a proud graduate of Fort Hays State University (in Hays, KS) with a bachelor's degree in business and is employed as an Area Supervisor for a major department store chain. Our oldest daughter, who received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, graduated from medical school (Des Moines University) and is now in the second year of her 3-year residency program in Pennsylvania. Our youngest daughter graduated from Creighton University (in Omaha, NE) with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She is currently teaching at a preschool in North Carolina.
In my spare time, I love to travel. I particularly enjoy going on cruises. In addition, I enjoy watching almost all sports on television. My favorite sport is football. During the fall, if I’m not watching the Rough Riders play on Saturday afternoons, I’m probably sitting in front of my TV from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. watching any college football game I can find. I also try to "relax", stay in shape, and challenge myself by doing long distance running and races. Within the past 7 years, I've run 3 full marathons (26.2 miles) and 30 half marathons (13.1 miles).
I am proud to be a member of the Rough Rider family. I strive to be a positive role model for all students. I truly enjoy working with our students and celebrating their successes. If I can assist you (students or parents) in any way, please contact me via the email address or phone number listed above.
