Greetings,

My name is Joyce Spann and I am the Family and Community Specialist for Dewey International Studies Elementary.  I have served the St. Louis Public School District for approximately 22 years in the area of Parental Involvement.

I am a proud wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother with a strong commitment to serving parents and their children.

My vision as your Family and Community Specialist is to engage you in your child’s academic and social development. My mission is to provide you with current information relative to your child’s education, and other subjects of interest that is beneficial to you and your child.  My objectives are to be instrumental in navigating parents through the policies and procedures of St. Louis Public Schools as well as inform you of your rights and privileges. I will also invite you to monthly parent meetings, Annual Title I, District, and Community Workshops; I will provide you with Volunteer information, and will work closely with you to make certain you and your child take advantage of the wonderful opportunities available at Dewey.
