• Welcome!

    Ms. Smith
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit!
Here is some fun information about me:
    • I love being a fourth grade teacher!
    • One of my favorite things about being a teacher at Dewey is the diversity of cultures and languages.  In our class this year we have 8 students whose first language is not English.  I love watching children from different backgrounds become friends and help each other learn.
    • I also love animals.  I currently have a seven-year-old lab mix puppy named Cali, a goldfish named Goldie, and a bearded dragon named Flash who is part of our classroom!
    • I grew up in St. Louis and went to school at the University of Missouri-Columbia.  I earned both my undergraduate and masters degrees there.  My bachelor's degrees are in early childhood and elementary education, and my master's is in curriculum and instruction.
    • I have a wonderful husband named Tony.  We have been married for 10 years.  This summer our son, Evan, will celebrate his 7th birthday and our daughter, Ava, will be 3 in October.
    • I love coffee, colored pens, bubble baths, musicals, and books!
    • I truly want parents to be involved in our classroom community. To keep your child learning throughout the summer, see the recommended reading lists and assignments on my web page. But most of all stay healthy and support your children through this difficult and unprecedented time in history. Please reach out to me if I can be of any help at all. I am here for you.
