"The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you."
~ B. B. King

Hi! My name is Ms. Mitchell and I am going to be your third grade teacher! This is my sixth year working for St. Louis Public School District.  I have a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Harris-Stowe State University.  A master's degree from Lindenwood University-Belleville in School Administration.  Currently, I am working towards a Special Reading (K-12) Certification from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.  In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, traveling, reading, and enjoying water aerobics.  I also treasure the time I get to spend with my adventurous five-year-old son, Noah.

I really strive to be the teacher every child deserves to have as well as the teacher that every parent wants for his or her child.  As a parent, I know how important and precious our children are to us, and I am honored daily that parents are entrusting their child to me. I make all daily decisions and judgments in accordance on how I would like my own son’s teacher to do so. I work every day to challenge every child in their own way and recognize how each one of them have their own special gifts.

I believe that all students can be successful; if we work together as a community to provide a safe and caring learning environment in which students are able to make social, emotional, and academic growth.

I am ready to have a wonderful 2019-2020 school year, and I look forward to working with you.  If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 314-481-0420 or email me at
