Welcome to the 2019-2020 Academic School Year!
Raising the Standards by Connecting with Families and Communities Onward!
It serves me great honor and pleasure to be a part of the Family and Community Specialist Team. I work collaboratively with the Family and Community Engagement Office. One of my roles as an FCS is to help strengthen school programs while supporting the academic development of students. As your Family and Community Specialist, I strive to continue helping with bridging the home-to-school gap while promoting better and effective parental involvement. We are very appreciative and don't take it lightly that you allowed your child to be educated by our SLPS district. Because we know that sometimes issues may unexpectedly arise, it is my responsiblity to maintain and build the best relationships with community partners that aide in helping our school, staff, and families effectively address those issues. We know that as the dynamics of society changes, "Raising the Standards of Achievement, Attendance, and Character" along with ultimately ensuring student achievement and school improvement for all is constant. Knowledge is power, I invite you...parents/guardians to become parent leaders and representatives as you become more actively involved in your child's educational success. We welcome you to become a part of our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), as needs continue to grow, your involvement is just as important in the decision-making, planning and implementation of school activities, events, fundraisers and more. It takes all...parents, teachers, staff working collaboratively together from every educational and life skills aspect in order to lead our students in a positive direction of successfully becoming productive citizens of a dynamic evolving society.
I challenge parents to get connected and stay connected by attending at least one (1) event and/or meeting a month.
I thank you in advance for allowing me to be very instrumental as I serve as your Family and Community Specialist. I am available during school hours and ready to assist. If you have any questions or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or e-mail. 314.772.7544/ Constance. OPEN IS A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES AND POSSIBILITIES!
