    Teacher Message: Welcome students and parents to another exciting and interesting year of political historical, and psychological study at Cleveland NJROTC Academy. Juniors will be studying American government while freshmen focus on post-1865 U.S. history and 11th and 12th grade students learn about psychology and themselves.     Biography: Dr. Essington earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville in 2006. He continued his studies in the social sciences at Illinois State University where he earned a master's degree in history in 2008. He recently earned his doctoral degree in Education at Maryville University. Dr. Essington has taught at all levels of education from kindergarten through college courses. His academic interests revolve primarily around philosophy, astrophysics, artificial intelligence, and Shakespearean literature. His personal interests are reading, watching movies, running, and playing with his children. Dr. Essington lives in the St. Louis area with his wife and their three young children.
