• Mrs. Mittler in the art room!

    Art Teacher
    Room 005

     Hi Everyone!

My name is Mrs. Mittler and I am very fortunate to be Mallinckrodt's art teacher. I received my education degree at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville and I am currently pursuing my master's at UMSL. I'm very excited about what the future holds!

I believe the art room should be a place where children can learn while pursuing their own interests. Students at Mallinckrodt are encouraged to use the art room as a personal studio as well as a traditional classroom. Kids in my class bring home an even mix of teacher lead projects and personal art. I promote exploration of materials and try to provide as wide a variety of mediums as possible. My favorite part of teaching is watching students use our supplies to make something I'd never imagine.

On a more personal note, I'm a mother of 2 and my husband is a teacher as well. I love family trips to Michigan, making art out of clay and learning about gardening. I'm also a lover of ice cream, pizza, and stove popped popcorn. I get asked what my favorite color is all the time and I always say all of them. It's true! I could never pick just one.

I hope to see you in my art room soon! If you'd like a peek at some of the things I do, check out the Mallinckrodt Artsonia Page.

    Thanks and Happy Creating!
