Hello, Mullanphy Family!
It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself! My name is Ms. Kimberly Wilson and I am beyond excited and grateful to be joining the Mullanphy Investigative Learning Center community as the new Assistant Principal. I am truly honored to have the the opportunity to work with everyone towards the goal of educating our wonderful and deserving students. I know that I will learn from, and add to, the excellent and rigorous education already taking place.
I have always enjoyed teaching and learning and am entering my thirteenth year in education. I started my journey as a special education teacher at Emerson Academy, a private special education school that services SLPS students. In this position, I had the opportunity to learn so much about supporting students' needs and what it takes to be one of their greatest champions. During my four years there, I taughts students in grades k-12, with multiple disabilities. Then, in August 2013, I joined Saint Louis Public School district, as a special education teacher in the SET (Special Education Transition) classroom, at Shaw Visual and Performing Arts. In addition, I served as the 4th grade English Language Arts teacher, teacher-in-charge, and a mentor teacher.
My desire to move into administration comes from a strong desire to make an impact on an entire school community. As Assistant Principal, I will work dilligently with all school community members to continue to create a nurturing, challenging, and supportive environment for our students.
I'm wishing everyone a safe and happy summer and upcoming school year!
Ms. Kimberly Wilson
