Biography: Hello. My name is Ms. Ransom, and I am the reading specialist for grades 3-5. I am a product of St. Louis Public Schools. I went to Hickey Elementary, Turner Middle, and graduated from Sumner High School. I have one beautiful daughter who is in the 6th grade. I am also expecting a baby boy in November! In addition, I have a Pomeranian named Scooby. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My hobbies are cooking, listening to music, watching movies, and watching wrestling.
This will be my 9th year in the educational field. I have taught 3rd grade for five years, 1st/2nd grade for two years, and reading intervention for one year. Also, this is my 6th year teaching at Meramec. I received my Bachelor’s of Elementary Education, Master’s in Elementary Education-Reading Certification, and ED.S. Educational Administration- Principal Certification at the University of MO-St. Louis.
As the reading specialist, I pull small groups and push in to classrooms daily to provide support and interventions in reading, writing, and comprehension skills. I also co-teach with ELA teachers to help build strong readers. I believe that every child can and will learn. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this school year!
