The objective of this lesson is are: Describe the difference between a custom and a courtesy. Identify historic customs and courtesies. Explain the proper methods to demonstrate recognition and respect. Describe the standard usage of military time.

I served in the Air Force for 21 years as a Security Forces member (Military Police). I served at five different bases in the United States and over 40 countries in my military career. I started my career as an installation entry controller and held numerous positions in the Security Forces career field from: Installation Patrolmen to Operations Superintendent for 11 Air Force bases and 4,000 personnel across the continental United States. I severed in more than four deployment operations including counter-drug operations in Panama and Peru. I also served in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Operations Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). During my career I was certified as Hostage Negotiator, Training Instructor, and Security Forces Raven (Air Marshall). My military career culminated at the highest level of command where I held leadership positions at the two major commands: United States Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command. I’m currently serving as a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Aerospace Science Instructor at Soldan International Studies High School in St. Louis Missouri since 2015.I'm married to Tammy Gause and we have a blended family of six children ranging in age from 13-26 years old.
