    Teacher Message: Welcome to 3rd grade! I am so excited to be your student's teacher this year. I am eager to see your student transform into scientists, authors, readers, mathematicians, researchers, and leaders.
    Biography: This is my sixth year teaching at Ames VPA. I earned my certification in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education from Missouri Baptist University. I also earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Missouri Baptist University. Recently I completed my certification in Special Reading K-12. I absolutely love to learn new things. In my free time I enjoy spending time and making memories with my husband of 19 years, our 4 teenagers, and our family dog, Bella. 
    Classroom Expectations: Students are to come to class sessions each day ready to learn, whether we are in person or virtual. Students are expected to come to class sessions on time and prepared with the needed materials. STUDENTS WILL HAVE CLASSWORK EVERY DAY. I will update the calendar with important dates regularly.  Additionally, I utilize Class Dojo as a tool to communicate and share progress. Check back frequently for updates on classroom news and activities. 
    VIRTUAL LEARNING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC-During this time of out of school learning, I will post updates, activities, and assignments on my district web page. We will also be utilizing Microsoft Teams for lessons, assignments, and communication as well. You may contact me on my school email at amanda.boxx@slps.org if you have any questions or concerns. 
    The official start date of virtual learning is August 31. Assignments and tasks will be posted weekly in the homework tab, calendar, and in Microsoft Teams. Student work should be submitted through the Microsoft Teams link.
