Ms. Barbara A. Jackson

Good afternoon everyone, This is a brief biography about me Barbara Ann Jackson, I began my education in the City Of St. Louis, MO. upon the relocation to St. Louis MO. in 1976, after graduating from McKinley High School in 79" I furthered my education at Forest Park Community College graduating in 2003, later attended University of Missouri St. Louis with a Bachelor degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Psychology, during this time which is pending funding.  Later I attended online classes at Walden University in Washington DC Pending graduating funding.  Both degrees are pending funding due to coronavirus, I'm unable to complete the paperwork for completion of funding and studies so everything is on hold so that I will be able to facilitate both online degrees as planned in 2020. I'm confident that I will get through this, however with all the uncertainties in our communities that plagued the world today I and so many others in my shoes will prevail and I will walk across that stage to get my diploma.  I have worked for the St. Louis Public School system since 1988, as a "Friend", to a "safety net", "Interventionist", "drop out prevention specialist" then to In-School Suspension Monitor (Behavior Monitor). I have vested over thirty years to education both personally and community wise as a Local 420 Assistant to Barbara McNeal at my current location (Carnahan) I have wore many hats in the Public School System, and to date each day is just as rewarding at the first day I walked through the doors or Hamilton School as a student until graduation.  I enjoy each student, tenacity and what they bring to my room/conversation.  What are their aspiration in life, and the challenges they bring to there lives and communities.  It is so different today than when I was in school, and I am honored to share my knowledge, wisdon, and views on a different approach on how to look at the different perspective in life today.  I am a single parent of  5 children, and two grandchildren (boys).  I love my Church family (Bethesda Temple) I love to travel, and take everyone with me, I like to bowl, and attend Cardinal baseball games.  It seems like all this is a thing of the past, trouble don't last always, this too shall pass.  I'm just going to be patient.  Everyone take the time to have self-care, however you can, check on your neighbors, and love ones, and most check on the Carnahan Family as often as possible.  Be Bless...
