Daily School Schedule:
Dear Students and Families,
Welcome to 2nd Grade! This quarter of school will be held virtually and in-person as needed and is designed to get you to learn new skills in reading, math, and other subjects, as well as to enrich your previous learning. I, along with the entire Oak Hill team, am excited about starting the new school year with you.
Since I realize you may not know me fairly well yet, I will share that I have been a teacher in SLPS for four full years and am ready to take on more learning for another year. I moved from California a little over 4 years ago and started my career in teaching here in St. Louis. I love to bake, swim, and help as much as I can. I just graduated from Lindenwood University this summer with my 4th degree and will start at Maryville University at the same time you start your school year (this may be my last degree). I love to learn! I look forward to meeting you.
Here is some information that is important for you to know:
All courses are delivered via the Microsoft TEAMS platform leading into Nearpod. I will lead LIVE daily lessons for your grade level on a subject, and have virtual office hours to support you on other assignments or topics if needed.
Students are responsible for managing their time and completing all assignments.
Please reach out to me if you need help. I will be available through ClassDojo daily. If you need me to meet with you, please call and leave a message or send me a text message to my phone with two available times that you can join me virtually. I will respond to you either in the text or by calling you back.
Example message: Hi Miss Perez! (student’s name) needs some help today. We can meet after school. Which time works best? (We will work through those together)
I will also be hosting a daily virtual morning meeting that leads into the ELA lesson for everyone from 9:15am-9:30am. Please be on time!
Thank you so much for working with me and being so ready to get back to your learning. I know we are together virtually for now, but I look forward to helping you out as much as I can.
Miss Mariely Perez
