Greetings 2nd grade families! The 2019-2020 school year is here and I have anxiously been waiting to meet new friends and welcome back familiar ones. This year we will continue our learning path to see what it has in store for us both academically and behaviorally. Oak Hill is still my home as I embark on my fourth year and I am still equally determined to accomplishing growth in each friend that walks in. If there is any question I could answer for you please contact me and ask away. Together 2nd grade will set us up for success as we will have to depart the Early Childhood setting and enter the Elementary classroom at the end of the year. I look forward to working with you and seeing the impact we can make for the Oak Hill Class of 2023! #WEWIN

Biography: My name is Mariely Perez. I was born and raised in Orange County, California. I moved to St. Louis just 4 days after having received a Bachelor of Arts in Family and Consumer Sciences- Child Development and Family Studies from California State University-Long Beach in 2016. Born into a Mexican family, Spanish became my first language, and my educational experience was followed by it, however, despite the challenges, I completed my Master's in Education- Elementary with an Early Childhood Education emphasis at the University of Missouri, St. Louis in 2018. I am now in my second year at Lindenwood University pursuing an Educational Specialist and Doctor of Education degree in School Administration and Instructional Leadership. I believe education is never a waste of time, and furthering my own is a constant reminder of the commitment I have to it. When I am not working, you can usually find me trying out new restaurants, baking, couponing, or taking short walks around nature.
