I am a St. Louis native, a graduate of the St. Louis Public Schools District. After attending the University of Missouri-Columbia, to major in English, I returned home to work as a college adviser at Jennings High School. I worked to increase the college-going culture and assist students with the college admissions process. Upon completing my two years of service, I joined Teach For America and placed at my alma mater, Roosevelt High School, to teach English. After my service, I accepted a position to train under my former teacher and mentor, Dr. Kacy Shahid at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. I currently teach American Literature and African American Literature to juniors and seniors. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English, emphasizing Africana Literature from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I also hold a Masters of Arts in Teaching and a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Maryville University.

In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and my fur child, Harrison. I enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks, which is typical for any English teacher. I love vacationing in Mexico and hiking trails in cold temperatures. I am a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. Around Central, I am the co-sponsor of the Marching Eagles and senior class Sponsor.  At the school functions, you will find me on the dance floor! I love working with high school students and could not imagine myself doing anything else!

I am looking forward to teaching and learning with you this year! Do not hesitate to reach out if you have questiosn.

Let's have a great school year!
