Ms. Taylor Mirka

Hello Parents and Students!  Welcome to my webpage!  I teach Physics First and Environmental Science at Roosevelt High School and I love my job and my students.

I recieved my Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Truman State University in May 2017.  Prior to this, I graduated from Truman in 2015 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  I also graduated August 2017 with my Masters in Arts and Education degree in secondary science education.  I also hold a Master's degree and certificate in teaching ESOL students as of May 2019.  I am interested in all branches of science and believe that a strong foundation in these disciplines will give my students the ability to change our world.

I played volleyball at Truman for 3 years and I am the varsity coach for the Lady Riders Volleyball team.  I also love music, drawing and playing sports of all kinds.

This is my fourth year in the St. Louis area and at Roosevelt and I love the diversity and depth of culture in my classroom and in the community.  My students will grow up to be the future of St. Louis and of America, and a good education is a key to thier success.  I am committed to providing a safe, effective learning environment that encourages open minds and open hearts.  By being willing to learn and try, all students can succeed, and I am here to make that happen.  If there is something you need from me or a way I can help you/your child succeed, never hesitate to reach out to me at the email listed, or through the Roosevelt Office.

Looking forward to the rest of this semester!
