SLPS Junior Earns Perfect ACT Score
The First Time is a Charm for Rebecca Harrington
ST. LOUIS, MO, May 24, 2016 – Gateway STEM High School junior Rebecca Harrington finished her junior year on the highest of notes. She learned in the last week of school that she had earned a perfect 36 composite score on the ACT exam that she took in April. To make it even more special, it was Harrington’s first time taking the college entrance test.
“Everyone at Gateway STEM High School is very proud of Rebecca. Earning a perfect score on the ACT is an awesome achievement, and she deserves every accolade imaginable,” said Interim Principal Steven Clay. “Credit is also due to Mr. Alan Mitchell and Mr. Anthony Blecher for helping our students prepare for the ACT exam. Thanks to their efforts, we had 46 juniors score at least 21 or better this April.”
Harrington is the first SLPS student to earn a 36 on the ACT since Metro Academic and Classical High School senior Thomas Fliss achieved perfection in September 2011.
A future computer sciences and linguistics major, Harrington is a member of the Gateway STEM Technovation team, an all-girls code writing team. She also serves as a captain for the Gateway STEM robotics team.
Harrington is the daughter of Susan Reynolds and Phillip Harrington.
