Ben Conover is an instructor and doctoral student in Philosophy at Saint Louis University. In addition to being an educator himself, he is the son, grandson, and nephew of current, former, and retired educators as well as being the co-founder of the public education advocacy group Solidarity with SLPS, which has helped protect Saint Louis Public Schools funding and derail privatization efforts.

He is a graduate of Saint Louis University (B.A. in Philosophy, Minor in Gender Studies) and the University of California-Irvine (M.A. in Philosophy of Science). Following his time in Irvine, he spent eight years working in data science for a non-profit supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, political campaigns, various organizations, and consulting groups. This included stints as the Deputy Director for the No on Proposition A (Defeat Right-To-Work) campaign, the Data and Technology Director of the Missouri Democratic Party, and a Senior Manager of Data Activations at Anheuser-Busch.

He is a current union member of the United Auto Workers (UAW) at Saint Louis University, as well as a former member of the Communication Workers of America (CWA) and Campaign Workers’ Guild (CWG).
