State Bill 1185

Carnahan High School delegation's own Taina Harris and Je'Nai Burns wrote a state bill last fall addressing education funding inequity in regards to St. Louis Public Schools for the Youth and Government program.  The Youth and Government program is a student-driven simulation of state and city government at the local level, which involves Missouri youth in grades 8-12.  That bill has recently become a real bill, now called House Bill 1185, sponsored by District 77 Representative Steve Roberts and is waiting to be debated on the floor of the Missouri House of Representatives.  These two young ladies worked for 5 months researching data to support their bill while also debating their bill during the 2018 Youth and Government Clark State Convention in Jefferson City, Missouri at the State Capitol.  Congratulations to these two Youth and Government delegates.

Thank you so much,State Bill 1185
