Component 2: Why is anyone being singled out for special support?
The purpose of this document is to clearly convey the expectations from National Board to instructors wishing to certify in component two for Exceptional Needs Specialist.
Please note that no one is being "singled out". The individuals that I will be documenting currently need differentiation in the classroom, within a classroom of exceptional students. Differentiation means changing the instructional approach to meet the diverse needs of students. I will be preparing information from more than one student, to ensure against unforseeable circumstances.
This component is to demonstrate that I am skilled at changing my instruction and making adjustments for learners at many different levels, and with differing goals in mind for individuals with exceptional needs.
