Keeping students’ bodies and minds active on summer break are equally important. That’s where summer reading programs come in, and for FREE is even better! These programs are a great way to keep the love of reading going in the minds of our youth.

Barnes & Noble: Students in grades 1-6 can read any eight books and record them in the B&N FREE Book Reading Journal. Take the completed log to your B&N store for a FREE book.

♦ Books-A-Million: Students fill out the log as they read books and then bring it to their local Books-A-Million for a free Dog Man logo baseball cap (while supplies last).

♦ Cap Com Credit Union: Students in grades K-12 can earn up to $10 ($2 per book) by simply reading! They can participate in this Reading Program all year long and earn up to $30 per year!

♦ Chuck E. Cheese: Download a free Reading Rewards Calendar, then read every day for two weeks and receive 10 free game tokens! Food purchase required when redeemed.

♦ Pizza Hut Book-It: The Book It! Summer Reading Challenge has already started! Visit their website to see which books they are suggesting to read, download the free activity guides for each specific book, and let the fun begin!

Scholastic Summer Read-A-Palooza: This is an excellent FREE reading resource website. When students log reading time they can unlock virtual rewards. Sign up your children to log the hours they read over the summer from May 4 until September 4. There are several suggested reading book lists, too.
