Principal's Corner

  • Welcome to Bryan Hill Elementary's Principal's Corner

    Ms. Briscoe & kids

Dear Parents of Bryan Hill Elementary:

Welcome to the new school year.  Whether you are a returning family or new to our district, I hope your summer was restful and you are now looking forward to making the most of the wonderful educational opportunities that are available to you here at Bryan Hill Elementary.  Although, there have been many changes and a lot going on in society, I am confident that the 2020-2021 school year will definitely be a success with our strong partnership.

A special thank you for your patience as we continue to perfect our new way of teaching and learning.  Some highlights of improvement to share are that each student will receive their own electronic device from the district if they do not have one at home.  In addition, the staff here at Bryan Hill has had several weeks to prepare and we will be starting the virtual school year off strong, with expectations of students logging on every day for daily lessons.

Here at Bryan Hill, we serve students in Pre-K ~ Grade 5. We are pleased to be able to provide all students with a nurturing educational environment that is necessary to ensure their academic success. Our school fosters learning for all children by providing a solid curriculum that focuses on reading, math, social studies and science.   All teachers will provide daily virtual differentiated instructional opportunities designed to meet the individual needs of each child.

As we begin the school year, we are eagerly looking forward to working with you and your child.  School begins August 31st, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. and dismisses at 3:00 p.m.  Please make sure that your child attends virtually on the first day as well as every day thereafter. We will have an attendance incentive on the first day of school. In addition, we will have monthly attendance incentives to be sure that your child attends school every day in order to be eligible.

The following important reminders below will ensure the safety and success for all the students at Bryan Hill Elementary:

    • Please make sure you have turned in your Ipad that you received from the district in March and through the Summer.  They will soon be locked, and you will not be able to access any programs for the fall school year.  Once you have turned in your Ipad to 801 N. 11th St. between 8:00-3:00, you should receive a receipt from central office and a new one will be re-issued to you during our Back to School  Event and/or curriculum deployment.  You will not receive a new Ipad if you have not turned in the old one.
    • All visitors must make an appointment to visit the school.  During your visit, you will be given a health screening before entering the facility.  Visitors must sign in and report to the office upon arrival.  Masks are to be worn at all times.
    • Virtual attendance will be documented, and School Response Team, that consist of the school counselor, Psych. Examiner, classroom teacher, principal and parent/guardian,  meeting will be scheduled when necessary.  Parents and Guardians are expected to be present virtually.
    • Student virtual rules and policy must be followed according to the District’s code of conduct.
    • If school electronic equipment is being used, make sure to monitor student use and handle it with care.
    • If for any reason you need to speak with your child’s classroom teacStudher, their virtual office hours will be posted on the Bryan Hill Website.  Furthermore, teachers can be reached by calling the school, email and/or the Teams application message.
    •  Student behavior will be managed according to the Districts code of conduct.

Our main priority is keeping our students, your children, safe and supervised.  We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

We are very proud and excited as we launch our new year.  Together we will work to provide a quality learning environment that meets your child’s academic, social and emotional needs. We appreciate your commitment and welcome you to our Open House; where we will provide student iPads, book bags with school supplies and curriculum items.  You will also complete re-entry paperwork and have the opportunity to meet the Bryan Hill staff.
