Our Ribbon Cutting was a great success. The AESM Family celebrated our new partnership with Friends of CharacterPlus. AESM is the first school to be adopted by Friends of CharacterPlus and we are so grateful! See some pictures below of our event.

  • Attendance

    Attend

Attendance at AESM Middle School is taken very seriously. We know that there is a direct relationship between attendance and student success. The more students are in the classroom; the more opportunities they have to be academically successful. We expect your student to have 90% attendance or higher.

The following are AESM’s attendance procedures if your child is late or absent to school:

    • Parent/Guardian must contact the school at (314) 345-5673 for absences.
    • A written note from the parent/guardian is required when a student returns from an absence. The note must include the following: student’s name, date(s) of absence, reason for absence, parent/guardian signature and home/cell phone number.
    • Students who are late to school/class must report to the main office.
    • In the event of a family emergency (illness, hospitalization, death, etc.), please contact the school as soon as possible.
    • If your child has a chronic medical condition that may interfere with regular school attendance, please have your health care provider contact the school nurse at (314) 345-5673.

    Welcome Back!

Welcome Back! AESM is a small middle school rich with pride and community involvement serving about 250 students in grades 6-8 in a safe, positive and orderly learning environment.

This school year will be filled with golden opportunities for all of our students as we strive to find ways that we can be even better than we have been before!  AESM has a dynamic group of teachers and staff who are deeply committed to developing lifelong learners and a school community where academic success for all students is our number one priority. We offer rigorous and engaging academic programs that will enable our students to achieve and maximize their learning potential. We often have special events throughout the school year and a plethora of extracurricular clubs and activities, performing arts groups, and athletic teams certain to encourage our Rockets to be involved and stay connected!

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

    • Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
    • Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
    • Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
    • Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
    • Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
    • Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college

Again, we welcome you to our wonderful learning community . . . a place alive with much energy . . . enthusiasm . . . and a high standard of excellence!  It is, indeed, a place where opportunities abound!  Here’s to an AWESOME new school year as we work together to make our school a great place to work and learn each day!
