Welcome Families to our 2021-2022 IN-PERSON Learning School Year

As I embark upon my 3rd year at Ashland Elementary, it is my honor and privilege to serve and support our students and families with their individual needs. The  Counseling Program is based on the American School Counseling Association Model which helps to assist students in developing skills and attitudes necessary for school success and lifelong learning. I, along with other community leaders and stakeholders, will be supporting students in the areas of SOCIAL EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, ACADEMICS and CAREER EXPLORATION. Some activities will include COMMUNITY GUEST SPEAKERS through the VIRTUAL LEARNING platform, counseling field trips, individual planning, small groups and guidance curriculum lessons. I am a firm believer in assisting with addressing the WHOLE CHILD.  In order to be in line with our school's vision, I will also teach CHARACTER EDUCATION to our students. Our school stands for five tenents/principles which are "BE SAFE", ""BE RESPECTFUL", "BE RESPONSIBLE", "BE DILIGENT" and "BE INTENTIONAL". Starting in SEPTEMBER, we will celebrate students who display the school's tenent/theme for the month "BE RESPONSIBLE"/CITIZENSHIP. I will send home updated parent letters with more details. During this critical time, COVID- 19 virus, I want to encourage eveyone to continue stay safe and take care of yourselves. Please check the district website at www.slps.org. for any additional information and updates. Also continue to check ASHLAND'S school webpage. Our webpage can be found on the district's main page under the heading SCHOOLS.  I will post resources and information as well. If anyone has any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to me. Let's have a great school year.
