In order to participate in any athletic activities at Lyon Academy, students must meet a certain set of requirements prior to and for the duration of the season.
Per the Saint Louis Public School District Board of Education and the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA), all students who choose to participate in athletic activities must maintain a minimum of a 2.00 GPA throughout the season they are playing in. The individual coaches of the activities at Lyon Academy will be allowed to set a higher academic standard if they so choose, however, all student-athletes must meet the SLPS and MSHSAA mandated minimum.
Students must maintain a positive, appropriate, and mature attitude both in school and in the community while participating in activities at Lyon Academy. Student-athletes who engage in behaviors which violate the policies of Lyon Academy, SLPS, or the Local/State/Federal laws will not be allowed to participate in activities at Lyon Academy. Students must show respect for all people and maturity in all matters whether that be in the game, in the classroom, or in the community.
According to SLPS and MSHSAA policies, students who miss a day of school may not participate in any activities that day. This policy also applies to competitions. Coaches are allowed to create a more stringent attendance policy if they so choose.
