    I believe education is the greatest equalizer and the solution to most of the world’s ills.  I believe all children are extremely capable and they all have the capacity to reach their full potential if we give them a firm foundation and allow them to learn at their own pace.  According to research in the field of education, learning is a natural process and it is our duty as parents, teachers, administrators, and the community at large to expose our children to as many learning opportunities as possible and to ensure that they enjoy as many of the experiences as possible. 

    As the 2nd grade teacher at Sherman, I vow to use every resource at my disposal to create a firm educational foundation in every second grader who crosses the threshold in my classroom.  I want to help inspire the students to become little sponges, absorbing and thirsting to learn as many skills and acquire as much knowledge as they possibly can while in my charge.  I vow to integrate technology into as many activities as humanly possible and to the extent that technology is accessible and available to our classroom.  I understand that 2nd grade students are members of the technological age and this medium is the one to which they naturally gravatate  I also understand that learning through technology for this generation of students is motivating, stimulating, captivating, and conducive to their learning styles and needs. 

    I look forward to meeting all Sherman parents and helping to develop and maintain a true professional learning community and environment that is safe and conducive for all students to learn.
