What is the Books Choose You Reading Challenge?
Saint Louis Public Schools invites all students to participate in the Books Choose You Reading Challenge, part of Literacy for the Lou.

WHAT:
- Read 30 minutes every day for 14 days.
- Read whatever Chooses You:
- Fiction
- Non-fiction
- eBooks
- Magazines
- Textbooks
- Graphic novels
WHO:
- All Saint Louis Public Schools students (Pre-K through 12) are welcome to join!
WHEN:
- Challenge Dates: September 8 – September 21st
- Turn in your signed tracker by September 22nd
WHY:
- Read to:
- Boost your creativity
- Build your self-confidence
- Build your self-esteem
- Expand your vocabulary
- Improve your comprehension
- Build strong reading habits
- Read for fun!
HOW TO JOIN:
- To get your “Books Choose You” Tracker, click here. (required for rewards)
- Recording the minutes you read automatically registers you for “Books Choose You”
- Record the minutes you read every day.
Celebrations and Rewards:
- Students who complete the reading challenge will be invited to a Recognition Ceremony at Literacy for the Lou on Saturday, September 27, 2025, and will be eligible to win prizes!
