"Education is never neutral. It either liberates, domesticates, or alienates." -Paolo Freire
Hi, families! We are making sure each student has internet access and a device for remote learning. Everything will be in place by Monday, April 6, but your student is welcome to start working as soon as possible! At this time, SLPS is closed until Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
Work for the week of March 30 is available. For all assignments, please have your student log in to "Teams" via portal.office.com. You can also visit the "Assignments" tab on the left side of this page. The math assignments come with videos to watch, and the work can be done in the workbook your student brought home or by logging in to Pearson Realize.
A list of IXL skills that we have recently learned and reviewed is also available on the "Assignments" tab. IXL and Reflex Math (math fact practice) can be accessed on any device with Internet. Contact me if your student does not remember their log-in information.
Please check here and Class Dojo for updates on assignments and other business. You are welcome to call, text, or email with questions at any time. Be safe and be healthy!
    Updated Monday, March 30, 2020
In 2014 I graduated from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Spanish, and in 2019 I received my Master's of Education from UMSL with emphasis on literacy. I am certified to teach all subjects grades 1-6 as well as special reading from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I previously taught at Hodgen Elementary and Walbridge STEAM Academy. 2019-2020 is my fourth awesome year at Oak Hill teaching Math and Science in 4th/5th grade.
Oak Hill's diverse community provides me excellent experience toward my long-term goal of teaching in a bilingual Spanish classroom. I aspire to obtain additional certification in the future, possibly in Mathematics, STEM, or ESOL instruction. I hope that my experience and passion help each of your children achieve success within and outside of my classroom. I look forward to another year of learning, growing, and #WINNING together.
