Welcome to the Nottingham CAJT Principal's Corner
The 2021-2022 school year is underway! We couln't be more excited to welcome ALL LONGHORNS back to in-person learning! I feel fortunate to be apart of a school community that is caring and dedicated to functional learning for students with disabilities. This year will bring new experiences as well as the enthusiasm of missed events and activities. Due to the pandemic, we'll continue to keep safety at the forefront of everything that we due. It's mandatory for students to wear masks on the bus and at school, have their temperature checked upon entrance, and remain socially distant from one another the entire school day. One functional skill we'll begin with for students in proper handwashing so we're cutting back on the spread of anything.
Last year, our school made gains in several areas. Our average daily attendance was 90% and over 80% of our students participated in virtual learning. Students learned to navigate several online learning platforms independently, upon graduation 6 students obtained permanent employment, 22 students were registered with Vocational Rehabilitation for job development, Nottingham was named a 2021 Honorable Mention School of Character, staff mastered an entirely new way of educating students. We'll continue the focus of our school’s mission with students building positive character and having a successful transition from school to post-secondary independence. Nottingham is looking forward to an increased use of technology and optimal growth in this area for all stakeholders.
For now stay safe and please don't hesitate to give me a call if there are any questions or you would like to know more about our program at (school) 314-481-4095 or (cell) 314-536-2851.
