In my role as Academic Instructional Coach I work collaboratively with Sumner’s teachers and leadership team to increase the quality and effectiveness of classroom instruction.
I have a profound respect for all those in the field of education who are committed to supporting students and doing what it takes to be continuous learners themselves.
My coaching is centered around engaging teachers in discussions in which they feel empowered to make decisions and persue new methods or strategies in order to improve student outcomes and increase equity within their learning enviornments. I am honored to be able to support teachers and learn side-by-side with them each day.
Feel free to ask me all about the amazing things teachers and students at Sumner High School are doing!
Ms. LaBoo's Bio: Born and raised in St. Louis, this is my 14th year with St. Louis Public Schools! I taught English for 8 years and this is my sixth year as an instructional coach. Throughout that time, I also obtained a Masters Degree in counseling and my Ed.S. in school leadership. Most recently, I obtained a K-12 literacy specialist certification from The University of Missouri, St. Louis.
Other than that, I have two children who keep me busy and laughing. If I am not working as an AIC or hanging out with my family, you will usually find me reading for fun or to learn, gardening, playing volleyball, hanging out with my doodle, traveling, or taking photographs.
