Greetings! I have been working in SLPS since 2000, and have been working with students living with ASD since 2003. I got my Masters degree in Special Education K-12 in 2007. I love teaching and learning from students with special needs and abilities. My son is a second grade student in SLPS and is also living with ASD. I try to challenge myself daily to learn a new approach to teach students who experience this unique communication disorder. Currently, I am working to learn video modeling.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing in the park with my son, walking, gardening, cooking, listening to new music, appreciating new art, and enjoying time with my friends and family.
This year I will begin teaching at Peabody Elementary! I am very excited about this new opportunity and experience. I met some of my Peabody students this summer when I was teaching Summer Learning at Carver Elementary and look forward to seeing you again! I will do my best to incorporate visuals, materials and schedules that the students are familiar with to help the transition to a new teacher as smooth as possible. Stay safe and keep on learning!
