Hello! I have been working in SLPS since 2000, and have been working with students living with ASD since 2003. I got my Masters degree in Special Education K-12 in 2007. I love teaching and learning from students with special needs and abilities. My son is a second grade student in SLPS and is also living with ASD. I try to challenge myself daily to learn a new approach to teach students who experience this unique communication disorder. Currently, I am working to learn video modeling.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy playing in the park with my son, walking, gardening, cooking, listening to new music, appreciating new art, and enjoying time with my friends and family.
As of March 15, Clay Academy has been closed due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. I hope that you and your family are doing well. As educators, we want to ensure our students learning is not interrupted. Please check the resources page for educational resources for your child. I will be adding resources and assignments on my webpage in the coming days to move my classroom learning online. If you do not have internet access, contact Charter/Spectrum at 1 (844) 488-8395. They are offering free internet access for 60 days. Also, please be aware that Clay Academy is offering hot breakfasts and lunches for pickup at the school, as well as work packets. Stay safe and keep on learning!
Please visit the assignments page for learning websites where I regularly post lessons.
