Degrees and Certifications:
Hello to all. My name is Dwight Cato and this is my first year as school counselor for SLPS. I began working in the field of Human Services in August 2015. I was a Community Support Specialist for St. Louis ARC, working with adult individuals living with intellectual disabilities. After receiving my B.A. from Columbia College the following year, I accepted an ABA Implementer position which focused on working with children between ages 18months and 6years, who have developmental delays and/or autism. In 2018 I began working for SLPS as a Building Substitute at Meramec Elementary. This year I completed graduate school at Lindenwood University to obtain my M.A. in Counseling. I have been married for 6 years. My wife and I have 2 beautiful but energetic boys, 2 dogs, and 1 cat.
I look forward to working with all families and staff. I keep an open mind and an open heart for our community, students, and families.
Fun fact: I am a huge Marvel,Harry Potter, and Star Wars Fan.
