All About Mrs. Caffey: I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL. There, I fostered a love of reading at a young age. I was homeschooled from 4th-8th grade, and attended my neighborhood high school for 9th grade. I soon transferred and graduated from Northtown Academy, a north side charter school, where I found my passion for teaching.
While attending DePaul University in Chicago, I majored in Secondary Education with a concentration in English and Social Sciences. After graduation in 2015, I got married and moved here to St. Louis! I have been teaching English at Roosevelt High School since. I now am the ELA Department Chair, and lead an awesome team of ELA and ESOL teachers! I also lead the professional development cohort, Culturally Responsive Teaching, where I facilitate teachers' learning around culturally responsive instruction. Finally, I own a natural skin-care company, Caffey's Natural Living. I am elated to be your teacher this year!
