Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
We never could have predicted what the past 17 months have presented us due to COVID-19. I am proud of how our staff, students, and families worked together to provide the best possible academic and social/emotional learning during the time of virtual and hybrid instruction.
I am pleased to announce that Mullanphy will be 100% in-person learning for the 2021-2022 school year. We are looking forward to seeing each of our students on campus every day! Our staff will help students observe the current protocols of social distancing, practicing good hygiene, and wearing face masks properly. Thank you in advance for encouraging your students.
Mullanphy has been focused on the improvement of our students’ reading skills for several years, and I am excited that our district has adopted a new curriculum for reading and writing this year. In addition, we will be using a social/emotional curriculum, Second Steps, to holistically support our learners and assist us in creating our classroom and school communities. At Mullanphy, we want each student to feel safe and supported to Explore, Learn, and Grow, together in their classrooms.
We will continue to provide updates as adjustments are made to our current protocols. St. Louis Public Schools, in cooperation with the St. Louis City Health Department, continues to make recommendations on how to best keep our students, staff, and families safe. With safety as our priority, I thank you in advance for your cooperation with our guidelines as we begin this school year. By working together, we can keep our students, staff, families, and the St. Louis community safe and healthy.
