As an award-winning St. Louis Public School Elementary Science Teacher and former St. Louis Plan Consultant Teacher, she believes an education not only provides students with the basic skills of reading and math, it can also provide the stepping stones to success later in life.
During her 25 years of employment with St. Louis Public Schools, She has taught in the regular classroom and science inquiry lab to grades 3, 4, and 5. During this time, she assisted in curriculum planning and implementation of the elementary science curriculum, she participated in local and national workshops, professional development sessions and conferences to hone her craft as an elementary educator.
As a Consultant Teacher, she was responsible for providing support and guidance to teachers in managing day-to-day issues of instruction and implementation of curriculum. She was an integral part of coaching and evaluating classroom teachers in the areas of Planning and Preparation, Classroom Environment, and Instruction.
Currently, she serves as a 5th grade teacher at Gateway Math, Science, and Technology Elementary School.
