As an award-winning St. Louis Public School Elementary Science Teacher and former St. Louis Plan Consultant Teacher, I believe an education not only provides students with the basic skills of reading and math, it can also provide the stepping stones to success later in life.
During my 20+ years of employment with St. Louis Public Schools, I have taught regular classroom and science inquiry lab to grades 3, 4, and 5. During this time, I assisted in curriculum planning and implementation of elementary science curriculum, I participated in local and national workshops, professional development sessions and conferences to hone my craft as an elementary educator.
As a Consultant Teacher, I was responsible for providing support and guidance to teachers in managing day-to-day issues of instruction and implementation of curriculum. I was an integral part of coaching and evaluating classroom teachers in the areas of Planning and Preparation, Classroom Environment, and Instruction.
Currently, I serve as a 4th grade teacher at Gateway Math, Science, and Technology Elementary School.
