Ms. Rhonda C. Stovall, Ed.S.
My name is Rhonda Stovall, and I am the science enrichment lab instructor at Gateway MST Elementary. This year marks my twenty-fifth year teaching in St. Louis Public School District, and my twentieth year teaching at Gateway, so needless to say, this is truly my home! During my tenure, I have taught students in grades kindergarten through sixth, as well as cross-categorical classrooms. As an educator, I am honored and truly blessed to have received numerous awards and accolades for my educational practices and experience in both classroom instruction and in science. On January 13, 2025, I received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). Awarded by President Joe Biden, this is the highest award that a teacher can win in their content area from the President of the United States. I am extremely humbled by this achievement and what it represents not only for my school district, but for my community.
As a STEM educator, I realize the growing demand for quality science education. Three-dimensional science practices must be utilized to provide equity and opportunity for the community in which I serve. By working together, each stakeholder can create a classroom community that is caring, structured, and allows each student to thrive both academically and socially. Thank you for all that you do as parents, and I look forward to working with you this academic school year!
