    Welcome to 2nd Grade!

    Hello Second Grade Families!

My name is Dawn Johnson. I will be your child’s teacher this year. This is my fourth year at Washington Montessori Elementary School, and my eighth year teaching. I completed my undergraduate work in Elementary Education at Harris-Stowe University and my graduate studies in Special Education at University of Missouri-Columbia. I am certified B-3rd grade, 1-6th grade and Special Ed K-12.

I began my teaching career ten years ago, after I spent 21 amazing years raising my boys. I taught for the state of Missouri-Division of Youth Services for three years. I moved to Riverview Gardens and taught Kindergarten for four years. Last year was my first year in the SLPS system.

I was born and raised in St. Louis. I graduated from Lafayette High School in the Rockwood schooI district. I have been married to my husband, Jim for 28 years. We have four boys; Colby 27, Logan 25, Riley 23 and Kian 19. We love animals, boating, traveling and being outdoors.

I love teaching and am so excited you will be part of our school family this year! Please check this website often for information about our learning and the exciting things that are happening in Room # 206!

    All my best,

    Ms. Johnson
