Welcome To Oak Hill
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I am Oak Hill Elementary School Counselor. My involvement with students takes place in several ways. As the School Counselor, it is my role to implement whole school prevention programs, such as, bully prevention, character education, drug and alcohol awareness and career education. These lessons take place in the classrooms and/or during school-wide assemblies.
As School Counselor, I facilitate weekly student small groups. Each group usually focuses on social skills, friendships, grief and coping skills that may need to be address. One of my most popular groups is the “Lunch Bunch” or “Friendship Groups". In these groups we play games and work on important social skills, such as, understanding feelings, communication/problem solving, assertiveness, motivation, and building positive character. Individual counseling is available for students whom may benefit from weekly counseling. During weekly counseling, I can provide support in area of social/emotional, academic and career counseling. All students have the opportunity to meet with me, as needed. Students may leave me a note and/or let their classroom teacher know that they will like to meet with the counselor.
Lastly, I am available to meet with parents to discuss specific concerns during regular school days and during parent-teacher conferences. Also, I can serve as a liaison for families needing community resources.
Please feel free to contact me during school hours Monday through Friday at:
