Welcome to Woerner's (full) Kindergarten Boys Classroom Website!
First let me say...YOU GOT THIS!!!
A daily routine—knowing what they will be doing and what comes next—is the type of predictability that allows children to self-regulate and learn time-management skills. Parents, a routine can also help you with budgeting time and trying to fit everything in to your day.😉
As we all know, LIFE HAPPENS!
Life doesn’t always go as we expected and there is very little that is ‘normal’ right now. Please don’t beat yourself up if you and your child are unable to work on all of the assignments following the posted schedule. I understand this—you have other obligations too. Make a plan, do your best!😊

You may click on the Virtual Learning tab here on my district webpage to access each week's learning resources and assignments or you may find the assignments on our class Teams page.

Whether your student is attending school in-person or virtually if quarantining, spend some time (at least 20 minutes a day) where your Kindergartener is reading to you or to a younger sibling so he may practice reading strategies he is learning.
Woerner has an online subscription to Tumblebooks.com you may use to find leveled online story books free of charge (Login: Woerner314 Password: books). There are many selections on the website that will read the story to your child until he is able to read on his own. Woerner also has a subscription to Bookflix.com (username and password is woerner), which reads a fiction book to your student paired with a non-fiction book on the same subject. Please also encourage your student to read picture books from his own paper book collection, even if it is just a picture read until he is able to read words.
(Each student in our class will get a free book to keep at home from Scholastic Book Club every month of the school year thanks to sponsorship from friends and family of Ms. Sample!)
If you have any questions or need clarification on any materials, please e-mail me at email@example.com (this is the best way to reach me)! My office hours are 8:45 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. Monday through Friday. My plan period (when I'm not directly teaching) is 2:20 p.m. to 3:10 p.m. and this is when I'm most likely available to answer emails/phone calls. You may also message me on our Classdojo.com page (you must register for an account there first).
I am here for our students AND I am here for you!💗Thank you!
