Degrees and Certifications:
Associate in Applied Science (Child Development) Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education Missouri Teaching Certification (Birth-Third Grade)
Hello! My name is Ms. Holmes. I am the General Education Teacher in the Inclusion Pre-K Classroom here at Hodgen Tech Academy. I have taught for 26 years in Early Childhood Education. I have 22 years of experience as a preschool teacher. I have also taught Kindergarten, first grade and second grade. I have been teaching in Saint Louis Public Schools for 6 years. I am grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love, TEACH others. My goal is not only to facilitate scholars to become critical thinkers and problem solvers, but to also instill life skills in them. Being respectful, responsible and maintaining self-control is a part of the daily expectations. Together as we, parents and myself, support each other and the scholars, we will create future leaders.
School Closure 3/23/2020-4/22/2020 due to COVID-19 crisis
To all of my parents, guardians, and scholars:
I will be communicating with you all through the ClassDojo app. I have submitted a list of fun educational activites and several educational website links for you and your child to use during this difficult time. Also, the Academic team has created enrichment packets to encourage continuous learning among students of all grade levels. These packets are available at meal distribution sites, and they are posted online at www.slps.org/keeponlearning. We have worked hard this school year and the scholars have progressed well. Use the recommended activities to continue to reinforce what they have learned. Please feel free to contact me for any questions or concerns you may have. I can be reached on the ClassDojo app or you can email me. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves! Hopefully we will get back to business as usual soon. Thanks for your support!
Message from Samantha March about Starfall.com
SLPS has been given full, free access to Starfall.com for all Pre-K students. The ECE Office has been given a unique access code for each student. Your assistance is needed in getting the word out to families. Please contact parents and communicate for them to email (Samantha.March@slps.org) or text (314-934-5436) me to obtain their access code so students may engage in continuous learning while at home. Parents will receive a prompt reply from a member of the ECE Team. Thank you.
