Mrs. Connie Black Clark

Nice to meet youHello Pre-Kindergarten students and Parents! Welcome to my webpage at Mann Elementary. Actually, It is our webpage being that we’ll be using it quite frequently this year.I am your child’s Pre-Kindergarten teacher for at least the next ten months. What an unprecedent time in education for students, parents and teachers.

The start of this year is will be different from any other and it is my goal to develop deep relationships with each family being that we will start on a virtual platform to make learning fun and safe where students anticipate the next day of connecting with one another. I believe in hands on, minds on and cooperative learning. Through active engagement in the learning, students will grow and acquire lifelong knowledge and skills. Students in my classroom are likely to be doing experiments, exploring our schoolyard (backyard) ecosystem, creating patterns, building with block, puzzles and game. Learning should be and is fun for all when it is done right.

Establishing an open communication line between parents and teachers is paramount to ensure that nothing is lost in translation. To stay connected, email with any questions or concerns: connie.black@slps.org, or send message on ClassDojo, or on Microsoft TEAMS anytime. Or call call/text (573.772.2640), I will get back to you within 24 hours. In the big family in which I was raised, education was and is very important. My parents were my very first and most important teachers. Life skills and responsibilities were taught at and early age in a fun way.

I fondly remember the fall days of helping my mother bake cookies, pies and cakes and counting the squares in the sidewalk with my dad as my older siblings walk, skip and ran off to school. My childhood was so much fun filled with hours of learning through my play that I readily chose early childhood education. Now, I have my own small family that allows me to mimic my parents. Being a pre-kindergarten teacher at Mann School, allows me to share with many children the (age and developmentally appropriate) early childhood experiences I enjoyed most while growing up.

Welcome to the Mann School Family and my classroom family "Where great minds grow"!Nice to meet you
