By the end of the fifth grade, students attending Meramec Elementary School will:

• Read for information and pleasure
• Use technology to access and manipulate information
• Use math concepts and computation to solve problems
• Work cooperatively with their peers
• Use effective language skills to communicate orally and in writing
• Demonstrate respect for themselves and others
• Use effective study habits to learn information and take tests
• Exhibit self confidence in learning and social events
• Be responsible and helpful citizens
